Please bring a pot luck item of your choice for everyone to share.
Also, please bring plates, utensils and drinks for your family and guests.

Merit Badge Academy 2010

   Mr. Hines will register all Troop 111 Scouts for this event.

 

It’s that time, again, to register for Merit Badge Academy.

Merit Badge Academy is a one-day event where scouts can rapidly earn a number of merit badges.

Who: Thunderbird District
What: Merit Badge Academy 2010
When: 03/13/2010 (13 March, 2010) 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Where: Hickman Mill’s High School
Why: Because it’s productive AND FUN!
How Much: $5.00 per scout / Bring money for lunch.

What will the scouts need to do?
Please have your scout pick (and number in order of preference) up to four (4) merit badges from the list located at this link: Merit Badge Classes 

Mr. Hines will collect the lists on Monday 11/16/2009 and register all participants on Tuesday 11/17/2009.

University of Scouting is a Day of Learning, Fellowship, and Fun.  Be sure to talk to your leadership about signing up for the 2009 U of S.

 

What is a Den Chief & Den Chief Training?

 

 

  

A Den Chief is a youth member of Boy Scout Troop, Venturing Crew or Varsity Team who works within a
den in a Cub Scout Pack. Yes, even GIRLS who are members of a co-ed Venturing Crew can serve as a Den
Chief! To be an effective Den Chief, you must be trained, so register now for the Den Chief Conference at
HOAC’s University of Scouting 2009. Bring your Den Chief Handbook (Can be ordered online or purchased at
the Scout Shop). There is a requirement that one adult Scouter, parent or guardian must accompany every
two youth Scouters attending. The adult must stay with the youth Scout throughout the training. There is no
cost for the adult who accompanies the two youth during this training.

When – Saturday November 7, 2009
Where – HOAC’s University of Scouting 2009 – Hickman Mills High, 9010 Old Santa Fe Road Kansas City MO
Scouts’ Cost – $10.00 non-refundable (includes program supplies, trained strip and lunch).
Adults’ Cost – $0.00 for attendance. The option for lunch is available for $5.00 or you may bring your own lunch.
Registration – Pre-registration is required.  (DONE)
Schedule – Check in will be at 8:30 am. Den Chief & Troop Leadership Training will begin at 9:00 am, lunch will
be at 11:00 am & training will conclude at 3:30 pm.

 

October Campout: TB District Camporee (10/09/2009)

We will be attending the Thunderbird District Camporee as our October campout.

The theme for the campout is Pioneering.

Since this is a district event, the adults will purchase and prepare all food (except Cracker Barrel).

The dates of the event are Oct 9-11, 2009, however, we will return on the 10th.

5:45 PM – Travel to Water pickup site
6:00 PM – Depart water pickup site for Camporee
9:30 PM – Leaders meeting and Cracker Barrel
10:00 PM – TAPS

7:45 AM - Opening Flag Ceremony
8:00 AM – Program
12:30 PM – Troop Lunch
1:15 PM – Program continues
5:25 PM – Retreat
5:30 PM – Break down camp and depart
7:00 PM – Arrive at St. Sabina

Missouri Town and Landahl (December 2008 Campout)

Missouri Town 1855We will tour Missouri Town 1855 this weekend as well as camp at Landahl Park Reserve.
The Landahl spot was chosen because our normal places for December are to be occupied by hunters.

The December campout (with Missouri Town) is usually one of the best regular campouts because it’s like visiting a living museum and the boys are free to have fun!
