Troop 111

Well, the first day went well, although it was HOT!

We were under a heat alert 1 as soon as we got here.

It was hot overnight, but at about 5:00 AM, a cold front came through and cooled everything down.

Today is supposed to be the hottest day, but with the cloud coverage, it may turn out to be the coolest.

I have not seen any skunks, yet; just a mole and some serious mouse droppings in the adult cabin.

A lot of things are sold-out in the trading post (hey, it’s the last session).

We have 13 boys and 4 (full time) adults.  Ten of the boys got BLUE swimmers bands, two got RED (intermediate) and one got white (non-swimmer).  The three that don’t have BLUE will re-test today.

Day 1 Dinner: Tacos
Day 2 Breakfast: French Toast, Cereal and Sausage patties

Tribesmen Remember:

• Warrior Ceremony is on Friday, 01 August at 8:00 PM 
• Brave ceremony is on Sunday, 3 August at 8:00 PM (after visitors day)

All relatives and friends remember:

• Visitors day gates open at 10:00 AM
• Lunch begins at noon and it pot-luck
  Leave enough for your scout to eat for dinner that night.

This Friday (07/18/2008) is the Bel-Ray Bash.

I encourage all scouts to come out either representing Troop 111 or just to have fun.

We will have a booth set up for people to find out about Troop 111 and Scouting.

If you wish to work the booth, please wear your Class A uniform.  You will still be able to participate in the other activities there.

We will need pictures, posters and other Troop-related items.

We will also have a tent set up for display.

Earn community service hours and help save lives by attending the HMCCC Blood Drive 2008!

On Tuesday, July 22nd from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM, the church could use our help with a blood drive.

Scouts will be able to assist (in 30 - 60 minute shifts) by:

• Setting up tables and chairs
• Serving cookies and drinks
• Cleaning up
• Offering general assistance

I need to turn in names of helpers to the church so please contact me if you want to help on the 22nd.
